Trail Information: The competition starts in the town Guachochi over trails with little undulations arriving at a place called La Cumbrecita, after 17 km. At this point, you go down a 0.90 m (1yd) wide path, abruptly descending amongst boulders with the help of stairs built by the tarahumaras (raramuris) following the San Ignacio stream. Where the descent ends, you arrive at a place known as La Hacienda, last stop in the next 6 km where drinking water can be found. At the bottom of the canyon the Rio Verde continues until reaching the Rio Verde and Rio Guachochi junction.
At this point you cross the river both ways. Two km ahead, at the start of the climb, drinking water is found again. The canyon's exit is through a 5 km climb steep and curvy path until reaching a the place known as Cumbres de Sinforosa lookout, where the view is spectacular. Upon exiting, the competitors head toward Guachochi where those on the 63 km run finish their test. The 100 km competitors, upon reaching Guachochi, head towards la Cumbrecita (83Km) where they find the return point and head back downtown Guachochi.

As in the previous two years, the Ultramaraton de Los Cañones, will take place at the Sinforosa Canyon, better know, for its beauty, as the Queen of Canyons. This canyon is found 12 km off de Guachochi, town located to the southeast of the state of de Chihuahua, 300 km away from the city of Chihuahua, the state capital. You will have the opportunity of running amongst fine woods and witness the change to a semitropical vegetation as you go down, until reaching the Rio Verde. Bring you camera along or you will miss the chance of taking amazing snap - shots of the canyon and the waterfalls that you will encounter on route.
