Summary:
    A sharp wind off Lake Alamoosook was felt by all the hearty souls here today! Although parts of the course were deep in snow other parts were in fact bare ground. Each finisher ran with cramp-ons, snowshoes, or in trail shoes over two small mountains including 400 ft climbs over Atkins Hill and Great Pond Mountain for a total climb of close to 1000 ft. Everyone present enjoyed trying the Redfeather Demo snowshoes and hanging out inside the Craigbrook Fish Hatchery for left-over Valentines sweets and homemade baked goods. a very special thanks to all of the following: volunteers Olga Lange, Amy & Bill Erlanson, and Peter Burke. also to those donating to the event including Red Feather Snowshoe Co., Larry's Pastry Ellsworth, Shaw's Ellsworth, First Express Copy Service of Bar Harbor, Paul Devore, Karen Keeney, Great Pond Mountain Conservation Trust, Craigbrook National Fish Hatchery, and all local property owners.
