Directions: Located 20 minutes south of San Francisco, and the
Penninsula, take hwy 1 south towards Pacifica from both 101, and 280 freeways.
At Rockaway Beach stop light make a left turn on Fassler(You will see a gas
station on your left). Drive all the way to the top of Fassler.
Trail head starts at the gate.
Trail Information: From the Fassler trail head a steep uphill for
about half a mile. Various offshoot trails that can go as far south as
Half Moon Bay. Main trail has lots rolling ups and downs, loose dirt
surface, but can have many surfaces. No water. Much of the
surrounding land is preserve habitat so stay on the trails. Dogs allowed.
Miscellaneous Information: This is a beautifully amazing trail.
However, the weather can change quickly being right by the ocean. so,
layers are recommended. Also, be aware that you are sharing this trail
with both cyclists and horses, not to mention wildlife. This trail and all
the subsequent trails are in my backyard, and I run them all the time, and I
never see other runners, I am amazed that it's been a secret for so long!!!!
