Directions: Easiest access point to find is at The Waterworks Pumping
Station Between the Savannah River and the Augusta Canal. Take Broad Street from
Downtown Augusta to Goodrich Street past the mills and onto the dirt part of the
road. Keep going straight until road ends at the pumping station parking lot.
Access trail by walking through gate, just over train tracks and follow path to
your right into the woods and downhill to start of the trail.
Trail Information: Nice technical looping trail - no long climbs, but
some short steep ones. Losts of twists and turns. There's a pretty good map
online here: http://www.sorbacsra.org/canal.jpg
- Main loop is approximately 3 miles long.
Miscellaneous Information: There's a sign at the start of the trail now
indicating which way to run the trail for even or odd days - don't expect
everyone to abide by this though..;-)
