Directions: Exit 2 off of I-26. Ask at the Hot Spot convenience
store or a mountain bike store in the area. Bent Creek is southwest of
Asheville and includes the North Carolina Arboretum.
Trail Information: It's been a while since I've run there. All
sorts of trails. UNC Asheville might be a good source of information (Roy
Benson's Nike Running Camp uses the trails). Lots of people mountain bike
there. Also people on horseback. Shut-in Ridge Trail Run is an
annual event (very rugged and by invitation only, I believe - check with the
Greenville SC Track Club for info).
Miscellaneous Information: North Carolina Farmers Market is close by.
A great time to go is in the fall at apple time (Edneyville, which is just east
of Hendersonville on Hwy 64, is one big apple orchard).
