Recent Update (10/11/2003) - The BLORA trail is off limits to runners and in
fact if your caught running on the trails you will be fined!
Directions: From I-35 take the HWY 190 exit to Killeen. Take the HWY
121 exit north towards Belton. Travel approx. 3-4 miles and turn left at the second
light (High School to front). Travel 5-6 miles then turn right at the Belton Lake
Recrational Area (BLORA) sign. Take the first left at the BLORA Mountain Bike Park
sign and follow to a parking area.
Trail Information: The trail network is well marked and maintained by the Fort Hood
Trail Blazers MTN Bike Club. Maps are can be found at the information board located
next to the parking lot. You can customize your runs from 3-15 miles. The terrain is
very hilly and wooded, excellent for interval training. You'll encounter hard packed
and smooth trail (some areas are rocky) but the trail is a mud-fest after a good
rain. Allow 1-2 days of dry time before running after it rains. The trailhead
offers bathrooms, water and showers (cold water). You'll be hard pressed to find a
more user friendly trail system.
Miscellaneous Information: There is a fee for using the trail (day or year
pass). You can get away with a warning the first time but please show your support.
Its a mountain bike trail but runners are welcome.
