Directions: From Interstate 64, charlottesville take the Scottsville
Route 20 exit. Turn left on Route 53 towards Jefferson's Monitcello. Drive 12 miles
towards the small town of Palmyra. Pleasant Grove is on the left. Drive 1/4 mi. on dirt
road toward old farmhouse. Soccer fields on the right, Heritage Trail is straight, past
the old barns.
Trail Information: Trail is marked as 3 miles one way, with lots of
smaller trail excursions off the main route. A fairly well maintained trail that
starts out in fields and moves into single track wooded areas along the Rivanna river.
Watch out for turtles on the trail! Moderate hills, no major elevation gain. Beautiful out
and back 6 mile run.
Miscellaneous Information: Heritage trail is accessible from two points--
Pleasant Grove and from Palmyra. Parking is available at each point, as well as river
access.
