Directions: I-65 to Exit 308. Turn toward Double
Springs on Hwy 278 to County Road 63. Turn North on 63 until it dead ends
into Hwy 33. Turn North on 33 to County Road 70. Turn Right on 70
and follow to the Brushy Lake Recreational Area
Trail Information: There are three different trail loops
6,11,14 miles, some horses and a few mtn bikes. The scenery is awesome. You can
go on the Alabama national forest web site under Bank Head forest and print out
the trail maps. These were originally in place for horses but now bikers and
runners and no ATVs or 4x4s.
Miscellaneous Information: You can park at the brushy lake
camping area for 4 dollars. They have bathrooms and public showers.
