Directions: From Squaw Peak Freeway, Hwy. 51, exit Shea
Street and go east. At the intersection of 40th Street turn South.
At the end is a cul-de-sac parking area, water, bathroom, and ramada.
Trails leave from two locations.
Trail Information: Beautiful desert, mountain terrain that is very
dry and hilly. Once you get to know the area a runner can travel all the
way to Squaw Peak, climb it and then return to the trail head. A very
challenging run. Can be a little crowded on weekends in the morning.

Additional contributor: Trail 100 is a desert mountain, 10 mile point to point trail with a few trailheads. It
begins or ends at just north of Hatcher Road on 7th ave in Phoenix at a park nicknamed
Duck Park. The trail travels NE-E through the Phoenix Mountains which divides the
metropolitan city north and south. Tunnels take the trail under major roads so that a
person never has to stop. Footing on the trail goes from soft dirt to very rocky. There
are a few steep inclines, but the trail mostly hugs the side of the mountains. Between the
2-3 miles a person can get water at the Pointe Hotel and at the 6-7 mile mark there is a
park with bathrooms and cold water. (Dreamy Draw Park) The trail continues almost straight
east to Tatum just south of Shea.
