Directions: From behind Swift Creek Middle School, follow the
signs for the Lafayette Heritage Trail Park, over the railroad tracks, then
between Lake Lafayette and Piney Z Lake down behind Piney Z Plantation, follow
the mountain bike trail, eventually into Tom Brown Park. Or do the run in
reverse.
Trail Information: The trail is poorly marked at this time
but work is ongoing. It is about 4.5 miles in each direction and is out
and back.

Additional Information: A rough trail with lots of roots and steep climbs
and drops. A lot of heavy shade, and this trail parallels much of the Heritage
Trial, winding around Lake Lafayette. Much of this run is through forests of
mixed hardwoods and slash pine, and is about 4.5 miles in one direction, where
it ends near Swift Creek Middle School, on Pedrick Road. A good out and back
course which must be run easily to avoid face plants!
