Trail Information: This park has easily 20 miles of trails,
some are wide and well maintained, others have hip-high grass. Lots of
sand to for a tough workout. The park ALSO connects to a paved 40 mile
rail trail if you don't get enough off-road miles, go for the paved trail to.
The park trails are all wilderness, shaded, very scenic with lots of wildlife.
The paved trail runs completely along a major highway so if you like to suck in
deep gulps of car exhaust and be out in the blazing hot sun, this is for you; I
suggest sticking to the equestrial and hiking trails within the actual park.
They have cabins for rent (inexpensive) so spend the weekend and get in all the
trails. There are showers, free binoculars, etc. This park has it
all including a 50 mile endurance trail run/race in the early spring. Happy
Trails! Ally
Bring WATER. You will most likely see lots of wildlife.
