Directions: Take 441 N out of Athens. Look for sign on your left for
Nature Center
Trail Information: Put together this can be a 20 miler
easily. Start at the Nature Center and run the Green Belt (Cookes Trail) that
connects the Nature Center with the park. Be careful after big rains. This
trail will flood. This runs for about 5+ miles. Once you reach Sandy
Creek Park, take either the horse trail on the right or drop down to the lake.
Both end up at the same ending. The horse trail adds some distance. Take
this trail until it ends. Refuel, and head back! This can easily turn into
a 3 hour run. Drinking fountains at horse trailhead and at nature center.
I recommend taking own hydration/ gels.
Miscellaneous Information: I'm looking for someone to train with
for some trail races. If interested e-mail me. spradstan@hotmail.com
