Directions: From New Orleans take the causeway bridge, then go east on
Interstate 12, then take the hwy 59 exit North to Abita Springs. Take a left on
Koop Drive, pass the water tower and head to the back parking lot near the green caboose
and you're there! You can head north to Abita Springs about 4 miles or south then east to
Lacombe about 12 miles.
Trail Information: Restrooms are available at the trailhead, water
fountains and drink machines too. Markers are posted on the paved trail. Circles equal a
mile and triangles are 1/4 mile. Some of the horse trails are nice to run and are adjacent
to the main trail.
Miscellaneous Information: The tunnel is under construction at hwy 190 in
Mandeville and construction should be completed by summer, 2002.
