Directions: The trailhead is on U. S. Hwy 49 in the north bound lanes
between Saucier and Mc Henry.
Trail Information: A beautiful, fairly flat trail that follows the route
of an old logging railrod for 5 miles to Airey campground, then meanders along Tuxachanie
Creek 6 more miles to the remains of a WWII POW camp. Deep shade, springs, ponds, flowers,
long leaf pines are among the many sights.
Miscellaneous Information: Airey Camp and POW camp are accessible via Hwy
67/402. Water, restrooms and camping facilities at Airey Camp. No bicyles, horses, or
motorized vehicles allowed.
