Directions: From the Fairy Lake trailhead, (forty minutes from Bozeman),
ending at the base of the "M"
Trail Information: 20 miles, 5000 feet climbing and another 7000
descending, following the top of the ridge for most of the trail. Terrain is often
rough and broken, but views are FANTASTIC! Recommended to bring a disposable camera
to capture the moments. Also a camelbak, map and (though I loathe them) a cell phone
in case of trouble- this trail is VERY isolated. 4-8 hours run time, depending on
fitness (of course!)
Miscellaneous Information: It's a good idea to go with someone who knows
the trail the first time. Ideal situation: Mid-August there's a race sponsored over
the trail, (The Jim Bridger Ridge Run, backed by the Big Sky Wind Drinkers).
