Directions: Travel Down BRP. Rough Ridge overlook is just
after the Viaduct.
Trail Information: Moderately rough trail. Narrow in some
places. The Rough Ridge Trail has beautiful views of the Viaduct as well as
Grandfather Mtn. and on clear days (I have heard but never seen such) you can
see the Charlotte skyline. The trail is not a loop and is about 3.5 to 4 miles
to the top and back. However, there are other trails that intersect.
Miscellaneous Information: The trail is rough for the most part
being primarily a hiking trail, but at one point there is a board walk over
fertile vegetation with benches that makes for a good place to take a break and
enjoy the beautiful view.
