Directions: Enter Lebanon State Forest (main entrance off rt
70E about 0.5 miles past the rt70/rt72 circle, entrance will be just past the
crest of the hill on the right hand side) Follow signs to Pakim Pond. Park
in the Pakim parking area, and trail head will be to the left-hand side of the
pond. No drinking water is available except at the parking area (if the
bathrooms are open). Trail is mostly sand.
Trail Information: This trail is about 10 miles. It is
very well marked (white blaze) but twists and turns a lot crossing many dirt
roads and side paths with sharp random turns thrown in, so you must pay
attention to where you're going! This trail zigzags through the Pine
Barrens, starting with very typical Pine Barrens feel, moving into more of an
upland type forest with significant hardwood growth and eventually heading into
a cranberry bog area. Just past the bogs you will junction with the ADA trail (a
gravel path-red blaze), where you will turn left and head back to Pakim.
Miscellaneous Information: Passes an old rusty car that is
interestingly enough right in the middle of the forest with seemingly no
entrance/exit route. VERY high tick area May-Sept.
