Directions: State Hwy 502 (West Jemez Road) west out of Los Alamos to
about mile marker 1, but not quite. Forest Road 2996 is on west side of road and leads to
trailhead.
Trail Information: Single track mostly dirt with some gravel
and rocks. mostly gradual uphill going west, usually a stream running nearby, gators may
be helpful, do need to watch for bear and cougar!
Miscellaneous Information: Pajarito Ski Hill is open during the
week in the summer and has excellent burritos. Blue Window Bistro in Los Alamos is also
good place to reload.
