Lost Creek Reservoir State Trailway is located in/near Fort Richardson State Park in
Jacksboro about one hour drive northwest of Fort Worth. It runs along Lake Jacksboro and
Lost Creek Reservoir and is fairly flat with a few gentle hills and little shade. It
offers a 10 foot wide smoothly paved trail, rock and hole free- a very nice running
surface. The trail is approximately 9 miles long each way with 2 trailheads for parking,
one in the Fort Richardson State Park, the other off of Hwy 59 just north of the entrance
to the Twin Lakes Community Center.
Directions: From Fort Worth, take Northeast Loop 820 West to highway 199,
then highway 199 about 50 miles. The entrance to Fort Richardson park (and the Southern
trailhead) will be on your left.
