Rails to River Trail - Virginia

A challenging trail with plenty of hills, rocks, and mud. There are 2 tough stream crossings that require wading (~2 feet deep). There are also some tricky turns and tough hills.    It starts in Reston, VA (right off of the Washington and Old Dominion Hiker/Biker Trail) and next to the Reston Ice Rink. The trail proceeds through Lake Fairfax Park, and crosses VA Route 7 near the historic Colvin Run Mill. From here it follows Difficult Run all the way to the Potomac
River and Great Falls National Park. Total distance is about 22 miles.
There are plenty of bikers and a few horses, but they have always been considerate and courteous to me.
